March is Women’s History month and March 8, is International Women’s Day.
I want to take the opportunity to celebrate YOU, a woman who has been in my life and women around the world who have been persisting since the beginning of time. So, here is to you, your persistence and your power to change the world for the better.
You know what is the theme for 2018 Women’s History Month? It is “Nevertheless, She Persisted.” I couldn’t help but chuckle when I found this out. It couldn’t be more appropriate. Women are rising and awakening to their power that has been silent for too long. They are stepping in, stepping out and stepping up!
Although the origin of the phrase dates back to Feb 2017, when Sen. Elizabeth Warren was silenced; Molly Murphy MacGregor, executive director and co-founder of the National Women’s History Project says “Nevertheless, She Persisted is really about every woman who used her tenacity and courage to accomplish whatever she set out to accomplish. It’s universal. Think about our mothers and grandmothers – they’ve been persistent for a very long time.”
You, the woman entrepreneur and the women corporate leader, have been persisting for a long time, but I also know you have faced numerous challenges on your journey. Tell me … are you stepping into you power, owning your voice and playing big? Or are you still staying in the seemingly successful shadows, living your life in quiet silence just so that you don’t rock the boat or make a scene; patiently waiting to be given permission to play big.
You know what? It is time that we change that.
I am inviting you to join me because it is time to persist! It is time that we boldly claim what we want and need. It is time we fearlessly step into our leadership and decide what we want to stand for and what we want to be remembered for! It is time for us to embrace a leadership that includes joy, softness, heart and soul! It is time for us to create the change we want to see for ourselves, for our daughters and sons, for our country and for our world.
What I want for you is for you to lead as a full expression of yourself, create a business that is a full expression of your values; live a life that fulfills you so richly that you sleep well, your health doesn’t suffer, you laugh more than you stress out and you live as the role model for the younger generation of women leaders and entrepreneurs.
But, we let self-sabotage get in the way. I have seen it time and time again and done it myself a time or two. We self–sabotage just when we are so close to leading and living on our own terms, boldly and fearlessly; because we want to make someone happy or we judge ourselves by someone else’s opinion of us. We fall into self-doubt and let someone else or some external circumstances take our pen away from us and write our story for us!
No more! This is the type of work I do with my women entrepreneur and corporate leader clients. They come to me because they know there is something missing in their personal and professional lives. The one thing they all have in common is that their hearts are missing something so deeply, that they feel like they are suffocating or about to jump out of their skin!
So, if you want to heed the invitation to “persist” to play big, create the change you desire to make our world a place filled with joy, softness, heart and soul (and goodness knows our world could definitely use mover and shaker women who are willing to play big… really really big) but you don’t know how, or you are filled with self-doubt, I got your back.
First, I want to invite you to take my “What Kind of Leader Are You” quiz by clicking here!
And then click here to set up an appointment and let’s start the conversation.
You know what I am doing as you are reading this? I am taking a big leap to grow as a woman, a leader, business owner and a coach. I am on a plane to Costa Rica. I am going to meet 11 other courageous and awesome women to mastermind together so that I can continue to create a life that fulfills me as a woman, and a business that creates magic for me and my clients. Oh… and I will go on a zip-lining adventure. My first time and I am afraid of heights! Imagine that! 🙂 But, sometimes, you gotta get out of your own way, step out of your comfort zone, and leap! Or zipline in my case!!!
Happy International Women’s Day! Make today a day to remember! Make it a day that you take that leap of faith for the life of your dreams!
This is your day! Lead Fearlessly!
